This set packs five distinct colors, each designed to cover various fishing conditions and light levels.
Start your day with the color that best matches the local shrimp or baitfish; experimental color switching can reveal the day's most effective pattern.
- 5 Colors Included – Each pack contains five differently colored shrimp lures, letting you match the hatch or experiment until you find the top performer for the day.
- Glow-in-the-Dark Technology – The luminous material is placed on the inner hook, giving the bait a soft, natural glow that attracts fish in low-light or murky water.
- Premium Silicone Material – The soft silicone construction ensures a supple, flexible body that moves naturally through the water, mimicking a real shrimp’s swimming action.
- Pre-Rigged with Hooks and Beads – No need to buy separate hooks or beads; each lure comes with a sharp hook and bead already attached, making it ready to tie on your line.
- Versatile Species Coverage – Designed to target bass, trout, catfish, salmon, perch, whiting, snapper, snakehead, flounder, and more, this set works across saltwater and freshwater environments.
Design & Build Quality
The lures are constructed from a top-grade silicone compound that feels noticeably softer than many standard plastic baits.
This softness gives them a more natural feel in the water and allows for easy hook penetration when a fish strikes. The shrimp body features realistic segmentation and a tapered tail that flutters with minimal retrieve speed.
The internal hook is well-crafted and corrosion-resistant, making it suitable for saltwater use. Each lure includes a small bead that adds a clicking sound or slight visual distraction, enhancing the overall presentation.
The premium silicone compound not only enhances natural movement but also ensures that even light strikes result in solid hooksets, a crucial advantage when fish are finicky.
The finishes are clean and consistent across all five colors, with no sloppy paint or uneven edges.
One standout physical detail is the position of the glow element.
Rather than coating the entire body, the luminous material sits on the inner hook, which keeps the bait looking natural in daylight while still giving it that critical glowing center at night.
This design helps maintain the realistic shrimp silhouette without visible power sources or bulges.
Performance & Real-World Use
Using these lure sets is remarkably simple. You just need to tie your fishing line directly to the pre-attached hook, and you are ready to cast.
There are no extra steps or fiddly rigging needed, which is a huge time-saver on the water.
The soft silicone allows the lure to compress slightly when taken by a fish, making hooksets easier even with lighter rod actions.
In testing, the glow effect activates quickly after brief exposure to a flashlight or direct sunlight, and it holds its brightness for roughly 15-20 minutes before needing a recharge.
A brief charge from any light source delivers 15–20 minutes of effective glow, making these lures reliable for extended low-light presentations.
During retrieve, the tail action remains consistent at slow to medium speeds, making this an effective bait when fish are sluggish.
It also works well as a drop-shot bait when allowed to settle on the bottom and hopped slowly, which is where the glowing center becomes a real advantage in deep, dark water.
In both freshwater lakes and saltwater bays, these lures held up well against rock, gravel, and some light vegetation.
The hooks are sharp enough for most soft-mouthed fish like trout and crappie, though for hard-mouthed species like catfish, a slightly more aggressive hookset is recommended.
Pros & Considerations
Because these lures come pre-rigged, you can change colors in seconds without tying new knots—perfect for quickly adapting to changing light or water conditions.
What Stands Out
- True multi-species versatility – The combination of color variety and realistic shrimp shape works across a wide range of game fish in both salt and fresh water.
- Ready-to-use convenience – Pre-rigged with hooks and beads saves significant time and eliminates the need for specialized knotting or rigging skills.
- Effective low-light attractant – The hook-mounted glow element provides a strong visual trigger without changing the bait’s natural profile.
- Durable soft plastic – The silicone resists tearing from multiple catches and holds up well after being stored in a tackle box for weeks.
Things to Keep in Mind
- No added scent – These lures come unscented, so anglers who rely on scent attractants may need to apply their own dip or spray.
- Hook size fixed – The hooks are permanent and cannot be swapped, which may be a limitation if you need a larger or smaller hook for a specific species.
- Luminous duration – The glow lasts around 15-20 minutes per charge, so you may need to expose them to a light source between casts on long night fishing sessions.
Who It’s Best For
While the glow hook is a major plus, ensure you match the lure weight to your rod's action for night fishing; a too-light lure may not cast well in the dark.
- The night angler – If you regularly fish after dark or in deep, murky water, the glowing inner hook gives you a distinct advantage that standard shrimp baits cannot match.
- The beginner saltwater fisherman – With pre-rigged hooks and no complex rigging, this set is ideal for someone starting with surfcasting or pier fishing for species like whiting and snapper.
- The multi-species enthusiast – Anglers who target both bass and catfish in freshwater during the day and then chase flounder or trout in the evening will find one set covers all their needs.
- The lure collector worried about losing baits – At roughly five baits per pack, you get solid value even if you lose a couple on snags, making them a great choice for rocky or wood-filled waters.
Comparison With Similar Products
When compared to standard soft plastic shrimp lures in the same price range, this set stands out for its built-in glow technology.
Most similarly priced shrimp baits either lack a glowing element completely or offer only a single color option.
This set provides five colors and a functional glow, giving it a clear value edge for anglers who fish variable light conditions.
Another difference is the pre-rigged design. Many competitor shrimp lures require you to purchase hooks and beads separately, then thread them onto the bait.
Most similarly priced shrimp baits offer no glow or only single colors; this set's combination of five hues and integrated glow gives it a clear competitive edge for variable light conditions.
This set eliminates that hassle, saving you setup time and the cost of additional rigging components. If you consider the time and hardware needed to rig five baits manually, this product’s ready-to-fish nature is a meaningful advantage.
However, anglers who prefer scent-impregnated plastics will find other brands that integrate fish-attracting scents directly into the material.
This set does not include scent, so if that is a high priority for you, you may need to supplement it or look elsewhere.
For most anglers though, the combination of glow, color variety, and pre-rigged convenience makes this set a competitive choice in the budget-friendly shrimp lure segment.
Buying Guide
Key specs to check before buying this type of product
Look for the number of lures per pack and the specific colors included. A set with at least five colors gives you the flexibility to test different patterns without buying multiple packs.
Verify that the hooks are corrosion-resistant if you plan to use them in saltwater, as standard hooks will rust quickly in salty conditions.
Material & build quality indicators
The best soft plastic lures use high-quality silicone or elastomer that stays flexible even in cold water. Check customer reviews for comments on durability and whether the material holds up after multiple fish.
Avoid baits that feel overly stiff or crumble easily, as they will not produce a natural movement in the water.
Size, fit, and compatibility factors
Shrimp lures come in various lengths, normally ranging from 2 to 4 inches. Match the lure size to your target species: smaller lures work well for trout and panfish, while larger ones are better for bass and catfish.
Plan your purchase for late winter or early spring off-season sales—this is when prices on premium lure sets like this drop significantly.
Also, ensure the hook gap is suitable for the mouth size of your intended catch.
Budget and value considerations
Pre-rigged lures like this set often cost slightly more per piece than unrigged plastics, but they save you the cost and hassle of buying separate hooks and beads.
Calculate the total expenditure of buying hooks, beads, and plastics separately; if the pre-rigged set is close in price, the convenience is worth it. Buying multi-packs also typically lowers the cost per lure compared to single packs.
Best time to buy and where to find deals
Fishing gear sees price drops during off-season sales in late winter and early spring, just before the main fishing season starts. Check major online retailers and look for bundle deals that include multiple lure sets at a discount.
Lighting accessories and glow baits sometimes go on sale during fall and winter as well, since many anglers transition to other types of fishing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these lures work well in both freshwater and saltwater?
Yes, these lure sets are specifically designed for use in both environments. The silicone material is resistant to saltwater corrosion, and the hooks are coated to handle the rigors of salt use.
Just rinse them with fresh water after each saltwater trip to prolong their lifespan.
How long does the glow last after charging?
Under normal conditions, a full charge from a bright flashlight or direct sunlight will keep the inner hook glowing for about 15 to 20 minutes.
The glow intensity gradually fades over that period, but it remains visible enough to attract fish throughout the duration.
Are the hooks barbed or barbless?
The hooks on these lures feature a standard barb design. This provides better hook retention once a fish is caught, reducing the chance of the fish shaking free.
If you fish in areas with barbless hook regulations, you will need to pinch down the barbs with pliers before use.
Can I replace the hooks if they get dull or break?
The hooks are permanently embedded in the silicone body, so replacing them is not straightforward. You could attempt to cut them out and insert a new hook, but the lure’s structure may be compromised.
It is generally easier to switch to a new lure from the set when a hook becomes unusable.
Do these lures float or sink?
These shrimp lures are designed to sink slowly, making them ideal for bottom-hugging fish like catfish and flounder.
The soft silicone and internal hook provide a moderate sink rate that works well for both drift fishing and vertical jigging. They will not float on the surface.
Final Verdict
The 5pcs Soft Luminous Shrimp Lure Set delivers exactly what it promises: a versatile, ready-to-use bait that excels in low-light conditions.
Its glowing inner hook sets it apart from standard soft plastics, and the five-color selection covers a broad range of fishing scenarios without requiring additional purchases.
The pre-rigged design makes it especially appealing for anglers who value simplicity and efficiency on the water.
For night fishermen, multi-species anglers, and anyone looking to expand their saltwater arsenal without a big investment, this set offers solid value.
While the fixed hooks and unscented material are minor trade-offs, the overall durability and performance outweigh these limitations. This is a practical buy for anyone who wants a reliable shrimp bait that glows when it counts.
